Refund and Paid Amounts Return Policy

Overview

This policy sets out the conditions for refunds or cancellation of fees paid to the Global Forum for Journalism and Media GFJM including membership fees training programs and courses seminars conferences events and various activities organized by the Forum.

Due to the nature of the Forum’s services and activities fees paid for registration membership or participation in programs and events do not constitute the purchase of physical products and are subject to the refund and cancellation provisions set out in this policy.

First: Membership Fees

Membership fees are paid in exchange for access to the services and benefits of membership in the Forum and do not constitute the purchase of a product.

After completing registration and paying the membership fees membership fees are non-refundable except in exceptional cases where the Forum decides otherwise according to the circumstances of each case.

A member is not entitled to request a refund of fees merely because they have not used the membership benefits or have not participated in the Forum’s activities during the membership period.

Second: Programs Courses and Training

This category includes all training programs courses workshops lectures and educational programs organized by the Forum.

In the event of registration and payment of fees to participate in one of the programs or training sessions the fees paid are non-refundable after the program or training has started.

If a cancellation request is submitted before the program start date the Forum may according to the circumstances of the case approve a full or partial refund of the fees or transfer the registration to another program in accordance with the policy applicable to the relevant program.

Third: Seminars Conferences Events and Activities

This category includes seminars conferences meetings cultural media and professional events as well as other activities organized by the Forum or in which the Forum participates in organizing.

Participation or registration fees are allocated to the specific activity for which the registration was made and are non-refundable after the activity has started.

If the Forum cancels the activity or makes a substantial change to it the participant may according to the applicable circumstances receive a refund of the fees paid or transfer the registration to another date or alternative activity as announced by the Forum.

Fourth: Cancellation of Registration by the Participant

If the participant wishes to cancel their registration before the date of the activity or program they must contact the Forum through its official email address and request cancellation.

Acceptance of a refund request or transfer of registration to another activity is subject to the timing of the cancellation request the nature of the activity and the costs incurred by the Forum in organizing it.

Registration is not considered cancelled until the Forum confirms acceptance of the cancellation request in writing.

Fifth: Non-Attendance

Failure of a member or participant to attend the program training seminar conference or any activity after completing registration and payment does not automatically entitle them to a refund of the fees.

Exceptions may apply to exceptional cases approved by the Forum after reviewing the request.

Sixth: Postponement or Change of Activity Date

If the Forum postpones the date of a program training session or event the participant’s registration remains valid for the new date unless otherwise announced by the Forum.

If the participant is unable to attend on the new date they may contact the Forum to discuss the possibility of transferring their registration to another activity or date subject to availability.

Seventh: Refunds

In cases where the Forum approves a refund of fees the refunded amount will be processed through the original payment method used for the payment and it may take several business days for the amount to appear in the account depending on the bank or payment service provider.

The Forum is not responsible for any delay caused by the bank credit card company or payment service provider.

Eighth: Fees and Discounts

The fees announced for each membership training program activity or event are subject to the specific conditions applicable to them.

In the event of registration under an offer promotional price or special discount the refund may be subject to the conditions of the offer or discount announced at the time of registration.

Ninth: Refund Requests

Any request relating to cancellation or refund must be sent to the Forum’s official email address.

The request must include the name of the member or participant the name of the program or activity the registration date and the reason for the cancellation or refund request.

Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and the Forum reserves the right to accept or reject a refund request in accordance with this policy the nature of the activity and the obligations and costs associated with it.

Completion of registration or payment of fees constitutes acceptance of the Forum’s terms and conditions and refund and cancellation policy.
