Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that four drones had been intercepted and destroyed in the Riyadh and Medina regions, as Houthi attacks on airports and oil facilities in the kingdom have continued for nearly three weeks.
The official spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, said on the social media platform X that “four drones were intercepted and destroyed in the Riyadh and Medina regions.”
The announcement came shortly after authorities reported the interception of a drone in the Riyadh region. A day earlier, officials had reported intercepting more than ten drones launched toward the kingdom, including drones in the Medina region.
The Houthis intensified their attacks on Saudi Arabia throughout October. The strikes included attacks targeting Riyadh Airport. One of the attacks reportedly killed 13 people and injured hundreds more on October 10, marking the deadliest attack on Saudi territory in more than ten years.
