 As part of its efforts to strengthen its international presence and its role in supporting media, knowledge, and technology-related issues, the Global Forum for Journalism and Media (GFJM) is participating in the activities of the 7th Gulf Virtual Conference on Tech Innovation, Tech Entrepreneurship, and Tech Artificial Intelligence, which brings together a distinguished group of experts, academics, decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and innovators from various Arab and international countries to discuss the future of technology and its role in reshaping the economy and development.

The Forum is represented in this participation by Dr. Hany Khater, President of the Global Forum for Journalism and Media, whose involvement reflects the growing importance of the media’s role in keeping pace with global transformations related to artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital transformation, while enhancing public awareness of the impact of these developments on the future of the economy, knowledge, and decision-making.

The Forum’s participation aligns with its strategic vision aimed at building bridges of communication between the media sector and technological, economic, and scientific fields, while strengthening the concept of knowledge-based media capable of keeping pace with the digital revolution and providing specialized content that contributes to understanding technological transformations and their impact on societies, institutions, and global markets.

Dr. Hany Khater will participate in the session titled “Tech Entrepreneurship for Economic Growth,” where he will discuss the importance of innovation and technology in supporting modern economies, the role of media in promoting an entrepreneurship culture, encouraging knowledge-based initiatives, and highlighting successful experiences in building digital ecosystems that support competitiveness and sustainable development.

This participation also reflects the international position that the Forum seeks to establish as a platform bringing together journalists, experts, researchers, and decision-makers around influential global issues. It also confirms its commitment to strengthening cooperation with international institutions and forums in the fields of media, innovation, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence.

The 7th Gulf Virtual Conference serves as an international specialized platform discussing the latest trends in artificial intelligence, technological entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and innovation through scientific and dialogue sessions that showcase global best practices and explore ways to develop digital solutions that contribute to building knowledge-based economies and advancing sustainable development pathways.

The participation of the Global Forum for Journalism and Media in this event is an extension of its mission to support international dialogue on the future of media in the digital era and to enhance the role of journalists and media professionals in understanding modern technologies and utilizing them to serve knowledge, development, and communication among peoples.

The conference features the participation of several scientific and professional figures from different countries, including Dr. Zuhair Al-Abbad, President of the Kuwait Journalists Association, and Dr. Hany Khater from Canada, President of the Global Forum for Journalism and Media, in addition to experts representing universities, research centers, innovation organizations, and Arab and international consulting institutions.

The scientific program of the conference includes strategic themes discussing the future of technology and economic development, including: Innovation and Technology in Emerging Markets; Innovation in Public Services; Educational Technology and Financial Technology; Smart Infrastructure; The Journey of Inventors and Innovators; Tech Entrepreneurship for Economic Growth; Enabling the Startup Ecosystem; The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Economic Diversification; and the Impact of Tech Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship on the Digital Economy.

Within the theme of Innovation and Technology in Emerging Markets, participants include Dr. Laila Al-Harbi from Saudi Arabia, Director of the Scientific Association Department at King Abdulaziz University, and Mr. Abdulaziz Sultan from Kuwait, moderated by Dr. Huda Al-Khuzaim from the United Arab Emirates, Assistant Vice Dean for Research and Innovation at New York University.

The theme of Innovation in Public Services addresses experiences presented by Dr. Mohammed Al-Humairi from the UAE, Head of the Technology Transfer Office at the University of Sharjah, and Dr. Salah Ali from Egypt, Professor of Precision Engineering at the National Institute of Measurement and Calibration, moderated by Dr. Hassan Al-Bahrani from Kuwait, inventor of the Contract Management Intelligence System.

The theme of Educational Technology and Financial Technology discusses digital transformations in education and the financial sector, with the participation of Engineer Iman Al-Hamad from Qatar, Digital Transformation Expert, and Dr. Mohamed Farid from Egypt, Head of the Applied Research Development Unit at Mansoura University, moderated by Dr. Zuhair Al-Abbad, President of the Kuwait Journalists Association.

The theme of Smart Infrastructure addresses the future of developing intelligent systems and services, with the participation of Dr. Bouchafea Abdel Rahim from Algeria, Inventor at the Electricity and Gas Company, and Dr. Radwan Shuaib from Lebanon, President of the National Council for Scientific Research, moderated by Dr. Younes Ben Ammara from Algeria.

The theme of The Journey of Inventors and Innovators presents experiences of innovation creators, with the participation of Dr. Bouhamdoun Saber from Algeria, Professor of Law at the University of Constantine, and Dr. Walid Tawfik from Egypt, Inventor at the Institute of Laser Sciences, moderated by Dr. Rania Sultan from Saudi Arabia, Founder of an Innovation Company.

The theme of Tech Entrepreneurship for Economic Growth discusses the role of technology companies and ideas in supporting development, with the participation of Dr. Huda Al-Khuzaim from the UAE and Dr. Hany Khater from Canada, President of the Global Forum for Journalism and Media, moderated by Mr. Jamal Banoun from Saudi Arabia, Journalist and Economic Writer.

The theme of Enabling the Startup Ecosystem discusses mechanisms for supporting entrepreneurs and technology-based projects, with the participation of Mr. Hilal Al-Hilal from Kuwait, Entrepreneurship Consultant, and Ms. Fadwa Al-Bawardi from Saudi Arabia, Director of FSAB Consulting Office, moderated by Dr. Jehan Farhat from Egypt, President of the Egyptian Council for Innovation and Creativity.

The first day’s program concludes with a discussion on The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Economic Diversification, featuring Dr. Salem Al-Khalaf from Saudi Arabia, Professor of Information Technology at Qassim University, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Wadiyah from Egypt, President of Tamkeen Foundation for Training and Development, moderated by Dr. Zahra Al-Rawahiya from Oman, former CEO of the Artificial Intelligence Academy.

The conference continues its scientific discussions by addressing The Impact of Tech Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship on the Digital Economy, with the participation of Dr. Ali Al-Qahtani from Saudi Arabia, Dean of the College of Medicine at King Khalid University, and Dr. Younes Khattabia from Jordan, President of the Arab Trainers Union, moderated by Ms. Fadwa Al-Bawardi from Saudi Arabia.

On the second day of the conference, the scientific program continues with the same main themes through new perspectives and experiences. The theme of Innovation in Emerging Markets includes the participation of Dr. Abdullah Kamal from Kuwait, Regional Business Development Director, and Engineer Yousuf Al-Shatti, Patent Examiner at Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, moderated by Dr. Hassan Al-Bahrani from Kuwait.

The theme of Innovation in Public Services explores the development of government services through innovative solutions, with the participation of Dr. Mona Al-Dosari from Saudi Arabia, Vice Dean of the College of Engineering at Sultan bin Abdulaziz University, and Dr. Iman Al-Tamimi from Qatar, Information Systems Consultant at the Civil Service Bureau, moderated by Dr. Moanes Shujaa from the UAE, Executive Director of MARZ Group.

The theme of Educational Technology and Financial Technology discusses recent developments in education and finance, with the participation of Dr. Hassan Youssef from Egypt, President of the Indonesian Research Center, and Dr. Ninette Kamel from Lebanon, Educational Technology Consultant, moderated by Dr. Amani Basha from Egypt, Professor of Media.

The theme of Smart Infrastructure highlights the importance of developing digital infrastructure and its role in supporting development, with the participation of Dr. Mohamed Abu Al-Saud from Egypt, Innovation and Digital Transformation Consultant, and Dr. Zaid Al-Fuqaha from Jordan, Professor at the University of Jordan, moderated by Dr. Hayat Omri from Tunisia, International Expert.

The theme of The Inventors’ Journey presents stories and experiences of innovators, with the participation of Dr. Sari Al-Laham from Palestine, Gum and Bone Surgery Specialist, and Dr. Najlaa Al-Raddadi from Saudi Arabia, Professor of Inorganic Chemistry and Nanotechnology at Taibah University, moderated by Dr. Khadija Al-Zaidi from Saudi Arabia, Empowerment Consultant.

The conference also dedicates a theme to discussing Technological Entrepreneurship and its Role in Supporting the Economy, with the participation of Dr. Mahmoud Rawajieh from Saudi Arabia, International Innovation Consultant, and Dr. Jaafar Hamza from Bahrain, Brand Strategy Expert, moderated by Dr. Saleh Al-Ayeni from Saudi Arabia, Professor at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University.

The theme of Startup Ecosystem Empowerment examines mechanisms for developing the business environment and supporting technology projects, with the participation of Dr. Nizar Sami from Egypt, Skills Development Expert at the United Nations Development Programme, and Dr. Mohamed Al-Tawil, Technology Consultant, moderated by Dr. Jehan Khalifa, Dean of Applied Studies at Apex International University.

In the Artificial Intelligence theme, participants discuss opportunities for utilizing smart technologies in economic development, with the participation of Dr. Osama Al-Dhargham from Jordan, Dean of the College of Communications and Information Technology, and Dr. Salem Al-Shuaibi from Oman, Digital Transformation and Big Data Expert, moderated by Dr. Hala Ali from Egypt, Professor of Public Relations.

The conference’s scientific program concludes with the theme of The Impact of Tech Innovation on the Digital Economy, featuring Dr. Zakaria Fawzi from Egypt, Expert at the National Research Center, and Dr. Manal Al-Asas from Jordan, Consultant at the International Organization IWPG, moderated by Dr. Laila Al-Harbi from Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Hanadi Mubarak Al-Mubarki confirmed that the conference coincides with two important international occasions: World Youth Skills Day, which aims to support young people and equip them with digital and entrepreneurial skills that enable them to participate in the new economy, and International Friendship Day, which promotes bridges of cooperation and communication among peoples and Gulf cultures.

The conference activities are accompanied by the organization of the 5th Kuwait International Competition for Economic Diversification, which offers financial prizes totaling USD 15,000 for speakers, in addition to a social media competition dedicated to participants through the Zoom platform, featuring three valuable prizes to encourage engagement with conference sessions and benefit from its outcomes.

Through its themes and international participation, the conference emphasizes the importance of building cross-border knowledge partnerships and strengthening the role of innovation, technology, and artificial intelligence in achieving economic diversification and supporting the future of sustainable development in the region.
