Emirates Airline recorded pre-tax profits of AED 3.7 billion during the first half of the 2026-2027 financial year achieving a solid financial performance despite the operational challenges and disruptions facing the global aviation sector
The company’s financial results came amid a decline in air travel and a significant increase in fuel costs as well as ongoing disruptions in airspace. These factors affected revenues and profits compared with the record levels recorded during the same period last year
The company’s revenues declined by 13% to AED 56.9 billion while net profit fell by 66% to approximately AED 3.3 billion affected by reduced capacity and operational pressures facing the company’s activities
In contrast the air cargo sector delivered a remarkable performance with revenues increasing by 52% supported by rising demand for air transport services and the shift of part of freight and logistics operations to air transport as a result of disruptions affecting maritime traffic
Despite the growth in revenues the volume of transported cargo recorded a slight decline of 1% reaching approximately 1.2 million tonnes
These results reflect Emirates’ ability to maintain strong profitability in the face of challenges weighing on the global air transport industry while the cargo sector continues to play an important role in supporting revenues and offsetting some of the effects of the decline in certain operational activities
